Programme Overview
The Pearson BTEC Level 4 Higher National Certificate in Business provides a broad introduction to various business functions, laying the foundation for further study or entry-level employment.
By the end of this course, students will:
Gain a solid understanding of basic business concepts
Develop both subject-specific and general workplace skills
Be prepared to progress to Level 5 studies or employment requiring personal responsibility

To successfully complete the programme, students must earn 120 credits at Level 4, distributed across 8 units.

Entry Requirements
Applicants must be 18 years or older and meet at least one of the following:
BTEC Level 3 qualification in Business
GCE Advanced Level profile with strong performance in a relevant subject
GCSE grades A*-C or 9-4 in Maths and English
Other relevant Level 3 qualifications
Access to Higher Education Diploma
Relevant management-level work experience (e.g., Manager, Team Leader, Business Owner)
International qualifications equivalent to the above (assessed by UK ENIC)
Successful completion of the initial and diagnostic assessment conducted by the college
Prior learning and experience can be recognized (Recognition of Prior Learning policy)
English Language Requirements
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency if not educated in English:

Application and Selection Process
Stage 1: Submission of Application Form
Submit online form with all required documents
Admission team invites applicant for an informal interview within 2 working days.
Stage 2: Submission of Personal Statement
350-400-word typed statement in applicant’s own words (MS Word format)
No images or copied content
Submit at least 1 working day before the formal interview
Stage 3: Interview Stage
Tests an applicant’s spoken English competency, reading skills
and ability to hold a technical conversationThe interview assesses applicant’s intent to study.
Stage 4: Basic IT and Mathematics Test
An online basic IT test is held to demonstrate required IT skills.
For certain courses, an applicant might be asked to complete a Mathematics test.
Stage 5: Offer
- Prospective students who succeed in the interview and the test(s), receive unconditional offers of places onto the course.
- The admissions team will inform all successful applicants about the times and arrangements for induction, enrolment and registration.
